Easy guava and cheese pastries

An easy way to enjoy the ubiquitous guava and cheese pastry without the hassle of working with puff pastry sheets.

Ingredients

  • A block of guava paste
  • A block of cream cheese
  • 2 cans of flaky crescent rolls
  • melted butter for brushing
  • sugar for sprinkling

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Unroll the crescents and separate the triangles.
  3. At the widest end, place a slice of guava paste and a *pat* of cream cheese(similar to a pat of butter).
  4. Roll up the crescents and form a ball, ensuring there are no open ends and place on your baking tray. I line mine with foil paper and spray with a cooking spray but this is not necessary.
  5. Brush the crescent balls with melted butter and sprinkle a generous amount of sugar over all of them.
  6. Place tray in oven and bake at 375 for 11-13 minutes.
  7. When done, place on a cooling rack to cool off.
  8. Best eaten when warm. Enjoy!
