Pastelitos de guayaba y queso

Nothing, and I mean nothing, beats a Cuban pastry. If you live in, or have visited Miami, you can find a Cuban bakery or coffee stand on nearly every corner. Whether filled with meat, guava, and/or cheese, pastelitos are great for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all the snacks in between. Traditionally, pastelitos are made with puff pastry sheets which you can purchase in the freezer section of your grocery store. I didn’t have any on hand but I did have crescent rolls in the fridge. Since we do not have Cuban bakeries on every corner in Indiana and because my daughter and I were craving pastelitos, I decided to make this cheater version. Not only are they fantastic, they are ridiculously simple to make.
